Dan Navarro

Dan Navarro is a film critic, author, and like most Americans, a fan of motion pictures. Unlike most Americans, he has a passion for silent films, those first vital expressions of the motion picture art. In addition to writing about film, Dan's love of the industry led him to join the Screen Actors Guild, where he served from 1994 to 2005 as a background actor in over 50 movies and TV shows. He was heavily involved in the prestigious National Film Society as a publicity agent where he met such silent divas as Jessie Matthews and Viola Dana. Later, he did formal interviews with the great Fred Astaire, Jane Withers, and Fred MacMurray and his actress wife June Haver. All these interviews were published in the society's periodical, American Classic Screen.
