Hans-Peter Becker

Hans-Peter Becker is the founder and CEO of one of the largest music schools in the world, the universal Modern Music School chain. Modern Music School currently has more than 80 international branches in Germany, Greece and USA.

Hans-Peter Becker studied economics and then he moved to Hollywood to study drums at PIT in 1985. When he returned to Germany at 1986, he started his teaching career and the Modern Drum School and at the same time he was an active musician, playing with several bands. Teaching became more and more important to him and especially working on a method how to make his students learn more easily and reach their goals. In 1993 he wrote the book "Drum Basics" which was the start of his own curriculum in the Modern Drum School. Within 10 years he opened up 20 Modern Drum Schools all over Germany. In 1995 he introduced guitar, bass and keyboards. The Modern Music School was born.

From 1995 until 1996 he was also working for Hohner and Sonor as "International Education Manager".

He also started the Los Angeles Music Academy (LAMA) in 1996 in Pasadena, CA. Today, students come from all over the world to study at LAMA as it is a full-time program for students who want to pursue a professional career in music.

At 2003 he took the decision to focus on Modern Music School, which became a franchise system at that time. In the same year he started the first DJ school. Today, there are 30 VibrA Schools of DJing in Germany.

Furthermore, Modern Music School introduced "Kling Klong", a music program developed for kids (from 18 months-old infants to 7 years-old kids). Kling Klong activates the natural musicality contained within every child and it is based on playful learning structures which train movement, auditory sensibility and a feeling for language.

In 2008, he released his book "The sound of personality" (in german: "In jedem steckt ein Musiker")and he also founded the publishing company Modu Publishing.

Today, Modu Publishing owns all MMS study books, Basic Drums, Basic Guitar, Basic Bass, Basic Keys, Basic Vocals and Basic DJing which are now on sale and distributed through Schott Music.

His latest book is "Unleash the Secret of Education and learn how to raise a happy child" (Kindle Version) and the German edition "Was Eltern über die Entwicklung ihres Kindes lernen sollten" (Kindle Version)". This book was written after years of personal research and sheds light on topics such as child development, education and learning. It is a book that provides alternatives to all children, parents and teachers.
