W.E. 'Bill' Goodman

I'm writing here for my dad... he died in 2002... but left a rich legacy of his memoirs of his WWII experiences.

After the war he eventually joined Manchester City Police until his retirement on ill-health grounds when he was 58, after a couple of heart attacks. Because he always wore his 'handle-bar' moustache he was always a rather memorable person both before his retirement and afterwards...people remembered him because of his appearance and his generally friendly manner.

Virtually all his working life was spent serving Queen (or King) and Country and I'm happy that some will read of his courage in the face of death.
