As Tom grew up in Sheboygan, WI, he had no thoughts of being a pastor or a writer. After high school, he went to the University of Wisconsin - Milwaukee and completed a degree in Mechanical Engineering. While in college, God changed his mind about his career choice. Tom felt he was called to ministry. He still worked for three years at Zion Nuclear Generating Station. The name of the plant would prove ironic, as the first church Tom was placed at was Zion Lutheran Church in Bethalto, IL.
While at Concordia Seminary in St. Louis, Tom married his wife, Joan. This summer (2013) they will be married for 25 years. They have two great kids: Nicole and Brett.
Tom completed a Doctor of Ministry degree from Concordia Seminary in 2006. He is the Senior Pastor of the Lutheran Church of Our Redeemer in Evansville, IN.
Wise Priorities is his first book.
