If you ask Ron about his career he usually will say, There’s nothing special to discuss, I had a good career, and I am an average guy. Ron spent most of his corporate career employed in some degree of senior Human Resource management roles. His early corporate years were spent in management of functions that directly served the customer. His HR talents were quickly recognized and he moved into major employment functions for companies.
Ron was recruited into the banking industry and was responsible for managing the HR functions at the Director level. As the banking industry experienced major changes, Ron was able to move with the tide of change and propel his career endeavors to include responsibilities for employee environments.
He managed HR through several mergers and as many of us have experienced, got caught in the downsizing arena. He spent seventeen years at Drake, Beam & Morin, a company that delivered products and services dealing with the career transition of displaced employees.
Today, Ron continues to help job seekers to master the intricacies of the Behavior Competency job interview. He also blogs about job interviewing and career search techniques.
Ron is a graduate of Michigan State University (Human Resources and minor in Psychology). He earned a certificate (financial Management, Commercial Banking) from the Pacific Coast Executive Banking School at the University of Washington and is a Veteran of the US Air Force.
Ron divides his time between his wife Jacqueline and family, traveling, fly fishing and his love of golf. Ron has three children: Ron, Jr., golf superintendent; Paul, director of golf, and Vivian, hair stylist, and three stepsons: Jeff, John and Jim.
