Melessa Henderson grew up on a farm by Lafayette in southern Minnesota. In Sweden, she taught English and several hundred Swedish students how to country line dance and the two-step. Her Juris Doctorate is from William Mitchell College of Law in St. Paul, Minnesota. She is a professor and teaches Composition, Writing and Literature, American Literature, Business Ethics, Business Law, Criminal Justice, Criminal Law and Social Justice, and Rhetoric and Research. Under a pen name, Melessa published poetry in national publications such as SP Quill Quarterly Poetry Magazine, Write On, Shemom, Skyline Literary Review, Soul Fountain, Time of Singing, Language and Culture.net, Hudson View, and Midwifery Today. She is the author of the children's books A Granny's Heart, 12 Months of Baby Animals, and Night ~ A Counting Backwards Book!, which won a Moonbeam Children's Book Award and was a Book of the Year Award Finalist.
