Michael E Chalek (Mike) was born in 1952 to a single mother in dire economic circumstances. Seeing no other solution, she gave up her baby to a black market adoption broker in Florida who then sold Mike for $200 to a childless couple in an under-the-table transaction.
After a successful search and reunion for his birth family, Mike now spends his adulthood fighting back against fraudulent adoption practices and advocating for equal rights for adult adoptees worldwide. His first book is both a memoir--of his heartbreaking childhood and successful legal battle to reclaim his identity--and also a wake-up call to the nations about the need to protect the rights of the most powerless member of the adoption triad.
