Jay Lavender

Jay was born in Albuquerque, New Mexico, grew up in Evanston, Illinois, and graduated from Dartmouth College where he played on the golf team.

Jay worked as a driver and assistant in Los Angeles before selling his first screenplay in 1999.

Jay's screenwriting/producing credits include The Break-Up starring Vince Vaughn & Jennifer Aniston, The Fluffy Movie starring Gabriel Iglesias, and The Wedding Ringer starring Kevin Hart, Josh Gad & Kaley Cuoco.

Additionally, Jay:

• Directed the call-to-action Faster Vaccines for the bipartisan Congressional Commission on the Prevention of Weapons of Mass Destruction Proliferation and Terrorism (2009).

• Blogged up Kilimanjaro with Summit on the Summit (2010).

• Directed and produced the short documentary film Wounded Warriors' Resilience that premiered at the 9/11 Tenth Anniversary Summit at The Newseum in Washington, DC and won the Audience Favorite Award for Best Documentary Short at the 2011 Virginia Film Festival.

• Edited & Published The River Runs Salt, Runs Sweet by Jasmina Dervisevic-Cesic (NSPYR 2014).

• Published Centerline by Dave McIntyre (NSPYR 2015).
