Mark Brumby

Mark Brumby was brought up in Hull in the North of England where, for his sins, he qualified as a Chartered Accountant. He was educated at The Marist College in the city before attending Trinity College, Cambridge, where he took a degree in economics.

He has worked since, in London, Geneva and Yorkshire as a financial analyst and a stockbroker in which role he writes about stocks, sectors and the stock-market in general on a daily basis. He is the proprietor of Langton Capital, is married, has five children and lives in London and Yorkshire. PAYBACK is his first novel.

Adam Reid is a fictional character. He is peerless in more ways than one. He is a genius and a billionaire but he may also be a manipulative, brutal killer. He is unmarried, has no children and lives in London and Yorkshire. He has rocked the world of science and may be richer than Croesus – but he has never written a novel.

Spencer Beck is also a fictional character. Firmly in the pack, he is neither a genius nor a billionaire. But nor has he ever been accused of murder. He is unmarried, has no children and lives in London and, when he is unable to avoid it, in Yorkshire. He has never rocked the world of journalism. He is a penniless hack and has yet to finish one of his many novels but, for the moment, he remains alive…
