Henry Stone

My name is Henry Stone. I was born in the Bronx in 1921. I started my music biz career around 1937 working with the Tommy Tucker Orchestra in New York City. Since then I've worked with and recorded everybody from Ray Charles to James Brown, The Allman Brothers, Sam & Dave, and hundreds more. In the 1970's I had the biggest independent music company in the world, TK Productions, specializing in Miami R&B and disco. I'm responsible for hits like "Shake Your Booty," "Get Down Tonight," "Rock Your Baby," and hundreds more. I also broke techno music in America, pressed some of the earliest rap records, and released several freestyle classics. To top it off, I'm responsible for "The Twist." That's why I'm releasing my series of Stone Cold Truth books, to tell you all my great stories from my life as a record man.
