Ian VR Davison was born in Kent in 1963 and was brought up in a seaside town in Somerset. At the age of forty six, after twenty five years working as a management consultant primarily in the Central Government sector, Ian gave it all up to concentrate on his writing.
His first book, an historical novel, 'The First King of England', published under the name IVR Davison, is set in the 10th century and took over two years to research and write. Ian had given up history at school at the age of thirteen but has always been fascinated by the period of English history known as the Dark Ages.
His second book, a murder mystery, 'Murder at the murder', published under the name Ian VR Davison, was based on an idea he originally conceived over fifteen years before it was finally written. The notes sat on a dark shelf gathering dust but he always knew that one day he would find the time to write it. Once restarted he completed the first draft of this novel in just over a month.
His third book another murder mystery novel 'A Pressing Engagement' has recently been published on Amazon and involves his regular detectives Alan and Becca Foreman.
He is currently working on his next historical novel which will follow on from his first looking at the period after King Athelstan's death up towards the millenium (1000AD) and will cover the five King Ed's that reigned after Athelstan namely Kings Edmund, Edred, Edwy, Edgar and Edward. He aims to publish this book in time for Christmas.
