My Passions
Some of us knew our calling in preschool, some of us knew in high school, and some of us have not yet found the answer. I can honestly say that I knew at an early age that I simply wanted to help people. It has been an indescribable journey figuring out exactly how to do that. I have priceless memories of assisting my dance teachers with the younger students, instructing my friends in acrobatic combinations on the playground, choreographing jazz pieces at a children’s summer camp, volunteering at Special Olympics and of course studying to become a Speech and Language Pathologist. Whether we use our words, our bodies, our hands, our eyes, our music, our artwork, our speech output devices, our pencils, our computers or our phones to communicate, does it matter how? I wanted to not only help my students and patients find their voices, I wanted to discover a way to reach people I did not even have the pleasure of knowing. Becoming an author has been the vehicle to make that dream come true. This experience has given me the amazing opportunity to connect both of my passions; helping others achieve their goals and exploring our own creative expression.
