Benjamin Myers

Benjamin Myers was the 2015/2016 Poet Laureate of the State of Oklahoma. He is the author of three books of poetry and won the 2011 Oklahoma Book Award for Poetry for his first book, Elegy for Trains. His poems may be read in many fine journals, including The Yale Review, Image, 32 Poems, The Christian Century, Nimrod, and many more. His prose has appeared in First Things, World Literature Today, Oklahoma Today, and several other publications. Myers earned his B.A. in English from the University of the Ozarks and his M.A. and Ph.D. in Literature from Washington University in St. Louis. He teaches literature and poetry writing at Oklahoma Baptist University, where he is Crouch-Mathis Professor of Literature.
