Lauren Kramer-Theuerkauf (1984-) was born in Freeburg, IL to Pam and Eugene Kramer. She began writing at an early age and won 2 Young Author Awards while attending Freeburg Elementary School. She received a Bachelor of Science degree in Mass Communications-Print Journalism from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville. While there, she earned the Outstanding Student in Journalism award in 2006.
Kramer-Theuerkauf is also the owner of Theuerkauf's Tails, LLC. She is an active member of the Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators (SCBWI), the Independent Book Publishers Association (IBPA), the Dog Writers Association of America and the Women's National Book Association (WNBA). She is also a volunteer editor/writer for Pets for Patriots.
Priceless Penny is the second book written by Kramer-Theuerkauf. Her first book is a collection of poetry entitled More Than Words that was published in 2010.
Kramer-Theuerkauf currently lives in Freeburg with her husband, Matt, and their five rescue dogs and three cats.
