R Owen

R. W. Owen is an architect, cook, woodworker, woodturner, gardener, and banjoist residing in Kenmore, Washington. He grew up on a farm near Hollister, Idaho and received his Bachelor of Architecture degree from the University of Idaho in 1967. His career as an architect and construction manager included serving as construction engineer for the US Pavilion Expo 74, Spokane, Washington. He retired from Lease Crutcher Lewis in 2009 after forty-two years in the construction industry. Since retiring, in addition to authoring Dad's Home Cooking; Traditional Recipes for Preparing Healthy Family Meals, he has remained active in the Puget Sound Chapter Construction Specifications Institute, and maintains his membership in the Architectural Woodwork Institute and the Seattle Chapter, American Association of Woodturners. He enjoys cooking using vegetables from his garden, making beer, wine, mustard, and pickles and entertaining dinner guests. Dad's Home Cooking; Traditional Recipes for Preparing Healthy Family Meals contains recipes that he has prepared over the years, including for holidays and special occasions, to feed his family and guests.
