Alex De Visscher

Alex De Visscher (1970) was born and raised in Ghent, Belgium where he studied Chemical and Environmental Engineering. In 2005 he moved to Calgary, Canada, to take up a Canada Research Chair in Air Quality and Pollution Control Engineering at the University of Calgary. In 2017, he moved to Montreal, Quebec, to lead the establishment of a new Department of Chemical and Materials Engineering at Concordia University.

Alex De Visscher published over 50 journal papers. He was the lead contributor to the 95th Volume of the IUPAC-NIST Solubility Data Series, on alkaline earth carbonates (2012, 2013). His textbook on Air Dispersion Modeling is published by Wiley (2013).

In 2011, Alex De Visscher won the University of Calgary's Killam Emerging Research Leader Award.
