Helen Hill was born on November 6th, 1950, in Washington, Pennsylvania, the youngest of four children, to Wilbert and Martha Slider. Her parents were poor and uneducated but they were proud that the family had shelter, food, and were clothed. But they never saw the dysfunction or the painful lack of love and support which brought a greater need to the family. Secrecy was the byword as incest and abuse were hidden within the walls of the household.
Yet hope was found in a little community church where Helen saw a light within the darkness she called home. She found a love beyond her greatest expectations and a faith that taught her there was so much more to be gained. Her heart became full of possibilities and dreams. The dreams became stories and the stories became testimonies of life's amazing journeys! Journeys became books!
The 'Forest Hills' series started with 'Manny's Gift' and was followed by 'The Crossroads of Forest Hills.' Soon to be released is the third in that series, 'Harvest Time.' The friends and residents of the 'Forest Hills' community are named in a registry, started in the second of the series, to acquaint the reader or to refresh their memory of the characters brought to life with all their quirks and lovable antics!
Helen remembers how her mother, Martha, proudly preserved her early writings, 'The House That Love Built,' and 'The Diary,' short stories from the 1970's which were published by Mac Fadden Publishers. Her parents are gone but Helen continues to write for all those who need to find their light in a world of despair. That Light will lead you to spectacular heights!
UPDATE: Now available in the Forest Hills Series are, 'Christmas in Forest Hills' (published in Nov., 2013) and (as of July,20 2014), 'Revenge at Forest Hills.' Thanks to all the 'friends' of Forest Hills!
