Lisa Jones

Lisa Jones is an applied linguist. Before she had children she used various languages in her work before joining Canning, where she designed and taught highly-tailored English courses for a wide range of business people.

She learnt Welsh from scratch in order to help put the Welsh language back into her family after moving to Wales when her first child was one. After three years teaching Welsh at Coleg Gwent she combined freelance work as an Associate Canning Trainer with work in the voluntary sector teaching other parents at her children's Welsh-medium primary school. During this time she also wrote Welsh for Parents, a 3-CD course and book of everyday Welsh for the home.

Welsh for Parents - A Learner's Handbook is her second book.

She is currently a part-time Welsh tutor in Brecon and Crickhowell for Aberystwyth University. She lives in Brecon with her husband and three children.
