This is MY personal journey the past few years as an athlete and coach within the all-star cheerleading world. This book shows the good side and the bad side to all-star cheerleading. I want parents to know that my personal experience doesn't necessarily happen everywhere, but it DOES happen. This book can help parents do research and make the best decision for their children. All-star cheerleading is still a developing sport and with that comes a lot of safety concerns and inconsistent rules such as background checks and drug testing. This is a MUST READ if you are in all-star cheerleading or if you are a parent that is considering putting your child into all-star cheerleading. The cheer world became my biggest addiction and my constant struggle.
I was born in Jackson, Mississippi and moved to Illinois at the age of 7. I started my tumbling career in elementary school and continued throughout junior high. Once I was a freshman in high school I decided to give cheerleading a shot and tried out for the cheer team. I made varsity as a freshman and was recruited my sophomore year into all-star cheerleading. I've been on two World's teams and coached several different levels of cheerleading as well as traveling around the nation teaching skills camps and choreography.
My family and I also run a small non-profit promoting anti-bullying and kindness called "Just Say NO to BULLYING. Please check out this page as well.
