Hank Brooks

I was born too many years ago in the small town of Brooklyn, NY. That always gets a laugh. I don’t know why. My childhood was not a happy one. I was overweight and terrible at all the street games the other kids played. By the time I got to Brooklyn College, I was all slimmed down and smart enough to avoid athletics.

I joined the Navy at 18 in order to avoid the army. I wasn’t about to sleep in a tent. Somehow the Navy big wigs knew this, and transferred me to the Marine Corp., where I slept in a tent in Korea surrounded by gunfire and all that jazz. The good news is that I survived and came home with some medals on my breast.

I got married at 21, and that union produced three fantastic overachievers who subsequently produced 5 sons between them, all very handsome and well on their way to becoming overachievers themselves.

I had a long career as a CPA, holding credentials in New York and New Jersey. When I retired to Florida, I had a succession of full and part time jobs in one financial field or the other.

I now live with my fantastic partner, Leo, in Coconut Creek, Florida.
