Keith Myers

First time author, Keith Myers (b. 1970) was born and raised in Davenport, Iowa--that's right Iowa! After graduating from the University of Iowa in 1992 with a degree in English, he relocated to Minneapolis, MN where he discovered his degree was completely useless and, like many disillusioned college graduates, delved into the exciting and fulfilling world of retail and sales. After working a slew of 9 to 5's as well as permanent to temp jobs, he found his knack within the hospitality field and for more than nine years crafted his skills in restaurant and bar management. Throughout his colorful and, at times, sporadic work history, Keith maintained and nurtured his love and desire of writing. Beginning with writing and directing a two man piece entitled "Voices" in 1992, which was performed at the Riverside Theatre at the University of Iowa to, most recently, writing, performing, and directing the comical farce "Fairy Tale Confidential" in 2010 at the infamous Duplex Cabaret in the heart New York City's West Village. His first novel "Ugly", was somewhat resurrected from depths of his desk drawer where it was hidden because of painful memories. Several of the poems featured in the book were written during an emotional time in Keith's life when he was battling an aggressive form of Cancer. From the fear, angst and, at times, uncertainty, "Ugly" was created, but lay dormant for years until a few months ago when Keith decided to breath life into the manuscript.

Currently, Keith resides in Jersey City, New Jersey.
