Sean Bodmer

A highly visible authority on the front-lines of cyber security, Sean has brought many unique skills and industry perspective to advanced threat detection and analysis. In 2014, Sean founded Pragmatik IO Solutions a Georgia based and operated security firm who in 2015 changed to doing business as Cyberflage, Inc. a intrusion deception and attacker containment focused attack post-breach countermeasures products firm.

Bodmer's experience has ranged from building advanced honeynets and advanced intrusion detection systems to conducting internal research and military intelligence field operations. Most recently, Sean worked CounterTack as Chief Researcher where he led the development of post-breach indicators and prior to that at Damballa, Bodmer served as a senior threat intelligence analyst for Damballa, where he was responsible for leading the counter-intelligence, counter-exploitation, malware analysis, and crimeware infrastructure analysis activities. Bodmer worked in the Washington D.C. metropolitan area for more than a decade supporting U.S. defense and intelligence agencies as a subject matter expert in his fields of practice in computer network defense and exploitation.

An oft-cited security industry speaker, Bodmer also co-authored Hacking Exposed: Malware and Rootkits and Reverse Deception Organized Cyber Threat Counter-Exploitation, both published by McGraw-Hill in 2009 and 2012, respectively. Sean is working on Hacking Back: Offensive Cyber-Counterintelligence covering the tradecracft needed to actively combat and counter advanced or persistent threats faced by today's security professionals delayed and due out in Q4 2016.
