John Sinclair

John Sinclair is an Honorary Professorial Fellow in the School of Historical and Philosophical Studies at the University of Melbourne. Proudly born and bred in Melbourne, he has become acknowledged internationally for his research over the last three decades on various dimensions of the globalisation of media and communication industries. This work has a particular focus on television, advertising, and consumer culture in Asia and Latin America. His books include Images Incorporated: Advertising as Industry and Ideology; Latin American Television: A Global View; a book in Spanish, Televisión: Comunicación Global y Regionalización; and Advertising, the Media and Globalisation. Co-edited works are New Patterns in Global Television: Peripheral Vision; Floating Lives: The Media and Asian Diasporas; Contemporary World Television; and Consumer Culture in Latin America.
