I grew up on the windswept plains and in the high mountains of Montana. From an early age, I have been an outdoor enthusiast and avid traveler. I have a background in conservation biology and environmental law, and currently live with my wife, son, and daughter in northern California.
I began writing the stories which make up my first book, Glimpses through the Forest: Memories of Gabon, as a way to share my experiences working with the Peace Corps and the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF International) in the Central African country of Gabon. My writing attempts to capture the unique beauty of people and places by emphasizing the relationships individuals and communities have with each other and with their surrounding environments.
