I've always liked to mix things together that have never been put together before. So while I've aimed to make my epic fantasy novels fun and fast-paced, I also want them to have some depth, last in the memory, maybe touch the soul a little. The best stories aren't just about facing troubles, but also admitting why we got into trouble, and finding the courage to change, move forward, and improve.
This has resulted in my Saga of Sinnesemota epic fantasy series: Disk of Dragons, Trollen Rose, Call of the Labyrinth, Dark Alley Magic, Republic Of Magic, and most recently, Eagle Of Foretelling. These novels follow the challenges, failures, and successes of Rev Caern and his friends. Rev is a young thief trying to make his world, and himself, a little better.
I have also published three books of poetry, collections from years of publishing poems in markets like The Evansville Review, Nimrod International Journal, Poetry East, The Threepenny Review, and many others.
The most recent is A Life In The Day, which details a wry look at life's journey through poems, with commentary on each page. My poetry book Adding The Subtractions memorializes the time during which my father was passing away, and the changes for my family and myself. Finally, I've been in love with my wife, Sandy, for many years (she writes mainstream novels under the name Sandra Rector). During that time, I've written many poems that tell of our long love, with its joys, challenges, and surprises. The result is the poetry book, Against The Night.
I hope you enjoy my books.
