Terry Nichols

A proactive and highly engaged professional with more than 25 years experience in law enforcement, leadership, administration and management, training, curriculum development, and grant acquisitions/management. Proven success in large program development and management as well as establishing strategic partnerships between government, non-government and public-private organizations. A founding member of the Advanced Law Enforcement Rapid Response Training (ALERRT) Center at Texas State University, former Associate Director and currently assigned as Director of Curriculum Development. The ALERRT Center provides first responder training to law enforcement professionals across the United States and is considered the "national standard" for active shooter training by the FBI, Department of Justice and numerous states across the country. Terry frequently speaks at conferences and is an invited participant at numerous government and non-governmental meetings, task forces and work groups focusing on the active shooter threat. He holds a Bachelor Degree ('91) and Masters Degree ('97) from Southwest Texas State University.
