Anna Heggie grew up in Sydney, Australia in the 1960’s. Her parents came from Poland and like most immigrants; a sense of displacement with resourceful adventure went hand in hand. At nineteen Anna studied Tonal Impressionist painting with Sydney artist, Fred Martin, reflecting, “I learnt to see tonally but more importantly, we engaged in regular philosophical conversations on art and life that has sustained a deeper enquiry."
Anna has exhibited and travelled widely as a professional artist. She held a part-time art teaching position with the NSW Department of Education for over twenty years. Writing became an essential part of Anna’s life as Yoga and Meditation opened doors of inner wisdom. Eastern philosophy, writing and running Yoga and Meditation retreats became a new major focus.
Anna also called Annushka, is presently director of her own business, Yoga Arts Fusion. She is an advanced trained, experienced yoga instructor who enjoys the village atmosphere in which she lives. Anna runs yoga and meditation classes, creativity and relaxation workshops and writes a regular lifestyle column. Utilising a mindfulness approach in her yoga teaching for deeper inner calm, Anna emphasises the connection between mind and breath to body and soul.
