Helen E. Lees

Dr Helen E. Lees writes in English (with translations in Korean). Her non-fiction, academic books (monographs and edited collections) are so far about healthy and successful university experience, silence as beneficial, and education considered alternatively from a mainstream schooled approach. Her PhD was on epiphanies in our understanding of education as a newly revealed alternative pedagogy. Her work is philosophical in nature, but designed for the non-academic. She co-edits the Palgrave book series Palgrave Studies in Alternative Education and was founding Editor in Chief of Other Education - the journal of educational alternatives (which ran between 2012 and 2023). Her current work is as a philosophical counsellor for universities, with a special focus on alternative approaches to studying, learning and teaching. See "lightonthinking"
