Tom Mietzel knows more than just a thing or two about business and life. An entrepreneurial spirit, Mietzel kick-started his career in college and never looked back until the day his hard-ended success started to crumble. After a period of introspection and reflection, Mietzel recognized the value of his missteps and decided to share the lessons he learned.

Mietzel's determination and drive have served him well over the course of his life. During his service with the US Marine Corps he was promoted four times in only 30 months. After a tour with the Marines, Mietzel launched his first venture around his own interest in scuba diving, while still a Junior in college. Offered at high schools and colleges, Mietzel and his team turned his idea into one of the country's largest diver training programs. Choosing to make a career change Mietzel spent a year exploring the world before joining a large auto dealership. Mietzel began selling cars, quickly becoming one of the top salespeople. He was promoted to Sales Manager within 18 months, taking home a national sales award for his efforts.

After finishing his MBA and meeting his future wife, Mietzel became a franchisor of the New Horizons Computer Learning Centers - reinventing himself once again while taking a gigantic risk. He learned to manage a multi-million dollar business, execute large-scale changes, and coach individual teams. After Mietzel successfully sold his interest to his partners, he shifted his focus to his personal life. While devoting his time to his wife, Kathy, he began teaching business mathematics and marketing at a local technical institute.

While giving back to his community with his business experience and teaching skill, Mietzel began to research, study and work in the rapidly growing real estate market. Mietzel used his newly acquired skills to sell 42 homes by year's end. He started a multi - million dollar construction firm building an average of 10 luxury homes per year. Mietzel also opened up a realty franchise implementing cutting edge systems guaranteeing his clients a successful sale on their home.

Mietzel's success was overshadowed by the unexpected death of the woman he loved. Returning to work he found the real estate market crumbling and his building projects compromised. In 2007 Mietzel hit bottom, faced with lawsuits from former creditors, the emotional strain of the preceding few years, and his finances in tatters. Using his trademark determination he picked himself up and started fresh.

Mietzel's strong sense of faith and financial experiences helped him to recognize the value of the painful lessons he learned and put him on the road to recovery. A born leader, Mietzel decided to guide others down the road to recovery by sharing the good, the bad, and the ugly of his work, hoping to help and inspire other people who found themselves down and out.

Today, Mietzel continues to work in the real estate sector, coaching new investors through the successful and profitable conclusion of their first deals. Ever the entrepreneur, he continues to launch new businesses including an international venture that assists people in securing secondary citizenship.

Mietzel earned his bachelor's degree in Business from the University of Wisconsin - Platteville, holds two MBA's from the University of Wisconsin - Whitewater, and completed the Entrepreneurship and Public Offering Training program at the Sloan Business School at MIT.
