From the author: The Fire Catcher (TFC), my first full-length book, has been a true healing and blessing for me to write. Fortunately, I found a great editor in Bethany McShurley of Faith Based Editorials. She helped to keep my high-energy style of writing in a readable and page-turning fashion. In writing TFC, I was forced to open up some old wounds and dig deep for applicable memories and events; yet, it was a incredible and soulful cleansing process. As you'll read in my story, God never gave up on me in my search for the truth. And often, while writing, He revealed hard emotional memories of suppressed moments in my life. However, TFC, even though it's my memoir, isn't really about me, but rather about a wonderful journey. Blessed beyond measure that God reached out and found me, I'm fortunate to have been shown the narrow path leading to eternal life in Jesus Christ. He is my guide, my focal point. TFC is also a love story about two battled scarred lovers in their fight against the forces of greed, power and darkness, but more than anything, it's about the importance of embracing our daily fires and struggles with faith, hope, and forgiveness. I praise God daily for His never ending grace, mercy, and anointing in allowing me to do what I love. Thank you for reading TFC: A Declaration of Grace.

From the editor: In his autobiographical memoir, THE FIRE CATCHER, the author shares with us his heart-felt journey of overcoming one fire after another in his life. After returning from Vietnam, Michael finds a different world than the one he left just 12 months earlier; and the secrets, plus many scars would continue to haunt him for years. Keeping a promise he made to himself while in combat, he buys a new sports car, travels the country, and enrolls in college at Indiana University. However, right before his senior year, he gets caught in a web of espionage, betrayal and legal conspiracy. Just shy of a degree in forensic studies, and pursuing law school, Michael is forced to leave the school, the town, and the people he loves and cares about. Being ostracized and uprooted leaves Michael devastated,so he begins a suspenseful and intriguing journey in a search for a deeper spiritual walk with God - and the truth. However, his secret past and peaceful present eventually collide in a major legal battle, leaving Michael forced to make some life changing decisions...so, what really happened in Vietnam? Why was Michael forced to go underground after leaving college? Why was he always followed? How did the love of his life, a vivacious beauty called The Black Rose, bring even more intrigue into his journey. And how did an old warrior, called 'The Fire Catcher,' hold the secret in Michael becoming the man God always intended him to be? In this never-before-told story of THE FIRE CATCHER: A Declaration of Grace, Michael answers these questions in a compelling and wonderfully written message about hope, faith, and God's amazing grace!

Michael currently lives in Evansville, Indiana, where he enjoys writing, reading, tennis, public speaking, and spending time with his family.
