Steve Pond

Steve Pond has been keeping freshwater tropical fish since he was 10 years old. Now with over 50 years experience in the care and maintenance of fish and the equipment required to keep them alive, he has seen just about everything. But he is still continually surprised by the ways this hobby continues to grow, develop and evolve. His writing derives from his personal and professional experiences with the fish and equipment he discusses.

He has kept fish personally all his life. Professionally sold fish as a manager of pet stores, even worked briefly in the live fish wholesale sector.

He spent over thirty years working for the largest family owned pet products manufacturer in the sales, marketing and customer service departments. His duties included: writing instruction manuals for most of the aquarium accessories such as filters, heaters and aquarium supplies; creating, designing and introducing aquarium products; providing live seminars about the aquatic products all over the world; creating, building and administering the corporate website; Customer Service to consumers on the various products and setting up live displays at trade shows.

Mr. Pond's passion has always been tropical fish, and helping others to move forward with their fish tanks as well. He is dedicated to helping others start and enjoy this fascinating hobby. His goal is to provide the information needed for everyone to be successful with their own fish tanks.

Steve Pond maintains, and regularly updates, a number of current websites such as freshwater-tropical-fish-tanks.com, tropicalfishaquarist.com, tropicalfishaquarists.com and noviceaquarist.com.
