Staten M Rall

Creativity is plentiful for Staten and he is a commissioned artist, songwriter, musician, and writer.

Thanks to his mother and grandmother, artistic painting was always in Staten Rall's DNA. His love for classical and Victorian art led to a serious study of poetry forms, hence leading to a broader scope of writing. His artistry delivers vivid scenery of the human soul that’s as rich and varied as the natural landscape. In his new release, PAINTING WITHOUT GLASSES, he frames his poems with unique angles, some complex and others decorative as we absorb the prose like patrons wandering a museum of art. Not to be categorized as modern or classical, Staten’s verse crosses over easily to both realms.

Staten’s historical passions led to his authorship of the Civil War novel, TRUE BLUE CONFEDERATE.

The War Between the States or The American Civil War had always been a personal family experience for Staten.

His two grandmothers are direct descendants of Confederate soldiers, one from Alabama, and one from South Carolina. His father’s family emigrated from Germany to Iowa in the 1840’s and married into families that provided soldiers for the Union. From the short stories he fashioned TRUE BLUE CONFEDERATE and it is a part of his family legacy.
