C.M. Swilley

Mike Swilley spent much of his early life in southern California, where he graduated with a B.A. in psychology from California State University, Chico. After a short period working as a sales representative for Hughes Aircraft Company, he entered the police academy and joined the San Diego Police Department. He served on the police force for almost ten years. After retiring from the force, he worked as a Licensed Private Investigator in southern California while he completed the coursework for a Masters in Counseling Psychology. In 2001, Mike relocated to Colorado with his family and switched gears a year later entering the teaching profession. He taught social studies and coached cross-country. Mike now resides in north Texas with his wife, where he continues to teach Social Studies at the Lewisville Learning Center of the Lewisville Independent School District. In his spare time, he enjoys running, reading and writing. “Emerald Eyes” was his first novel, but the Jake Spencer saga is continued in the exciting sequel “Vanity and Deceit.” The Jake Spencer stories are purely fictional however Mike was inspired by his experiences as a police officer and as a private investigator. As a result his novels are based on many true events involving victims whose stories will never be told.
