Marshall L. Stocker

Marshall L. Stocker is an international investor recognized for his research on the relationships between political-economic policy and investment. With over twenty five years of experience in the asset management industry, his perspective on policy has been sought by ministers, policy institutes, and investors in a wide-range of forums including decision-level policy discussions across emerging and frontier markets.

Dr. Stocker has opined or been quoted in the Wall Street Journal, Bloomberg, New York Times, Washington Post, Financial Times, and Regulation Magazine. He has authored economic research in peer-reviewed journals such as Emerging Markets Review, the International Journal of Finance and Economics, and the Journal of Financial Economic Policy. In his memoir, "Don't Stand Under a Tree When It Rains," he shares his perspective on life and business during the three years he lived in Egypt amidst the Arab spring.

Dr. Stocker earned a B.S. and an M.B.A. from Cornell University, where he was a Park Leadership Fellow, and a Ph.D. in economics from Universidad Francisco Marroquin. He is also a graduate of Culver Military Academy. Dr. Stocker currently works as a Co-Director of Emerging Markets and portfolio manager in Boston.
