Sally Newhart

Sally Newhart was raised in Bucks County, Pennsylvania in a stone farmhouse built in 1746. Her interest in researching history began during a summer vacation when a stack of books from the early 1800's was found in a corner of the attic. The family who originally owned the books came to life as newspaper clippings, letters and other memorabilia found pressed between the pages helped recreate their story.

Most of her adult life was spent in Dutchess County, New York where whe had a successful business, married, raised a daughter, gardened and continued to pursue her desire to learn about "what came before".

In 2006, after a few years in western Massachusetts, she moved from the cold and dry to the hot and humid of New Orleans where she is now exploring Louisiana's abundance of personality, distinct culture and unique history.
