Dean Julian Davis

I was raised in a western suburb of Illinois. I first got interested in writing not entirely through the work of other authors, but by the 1960's-70's horror and fantasy films. I have always been intrigued by the special look and atmosphere of the movies done in Technicolor or Cinemascope. Books adapted to film like The 7th Voyage Of Sinbad, Jason and The Argonauts (specifically the special effects created by Ray Harryhausen) and Journey To The Center Of The Earth had a great effect on my desire for story telling.

There is a special process in movie making called storyboarding used to set up a scene; I tried to construct a version of this idea to create a unique feel in the way I write.
