As many of you know, THE DETAINEE was originally written some time ago, but over and over I get asked about the story, the series, and - even more often - when will it be made into a film? Only last month someone wrote to tell me it was the most cinematic book he'd ever read - and he's certainly not the only one. In fact, for a while, it was going to be a movie, and later, a TV series. Time to ramp things up a little, and I think that starts with introducing a whole lot of new readers to Clancy, Lena, the rest of the gang, and that foul and fearsome Island.
I think a lot of the continuing interest in this book is because people can see parallels with what they see around them. Especially, what society does with those we no longer have a use for. But as I've said before, I wrote a book about hope, about, no matter how bad the situation might be, we, the people, will prevail. And I think we can all relate to that.
