Borut Robic

Borut Robic is a Full Professor and Head of Theoretical Computer Science Chair at the Faculty of Computer and Information Science, University of Ljubljana, Slovenia. He received the B.Sc., M.Sc., and Ph.D degrees in Computer Science from University of Ljubljana in 1983, 1987, and 1993, respectively. He has had guest professorships, fellowships and collaborations with the University of Cambridge, the University of Augsburg, the University of Grenoble, and Jožef Stefan Institute, Ljubljana.

Robic is the author of "The Foundations of Computability Theory" (Springer 2015 and 2020 2nd edition), a coauthor of "Processor Architecture: From Dataflow to Superscalar and Beyond" (Springer 1999) with J. Silc and T. Ungerer, and a coauthor of "Introduction to Parallel Programming: From Algorithms to Programming on State-of-the Art Platforms" (Springer 2018) with R. Trobec, B. Slivnik, and P. Bulic.

In addition to computer science and mathematics, Robic loves nature and art, especially classical music, and in particular Rachmaninov, Mahler, and Tchaikovsky. He enjoys cooking, but he has been kindly asked by his family to focus from production to consumption. And there is Poppy, a Jack Russell terrier with infinite energy and devotion.
