Laurie has visited Colonial Williamsburg at least 30 times since she was young(er), continuing the tradition with her own daughters (see photo from a few years back!) All of Laurie's novels include bits of historical fact intertwined within her plots and subplots. Her first book - WETHERTON - was born from the very definition of history (History (noun) - a narrative of events; story). And like many other authors before her, she believes that the stories of our history will be lost to the ages if we don't continue to pass them along to future generations.
