I was born and raised in a small southern Ontario city and began writing poems in my early 20's, though I never really did anything with them but keep them in a collection of scrap paper, a music notebook and assorted duo tangs and binders. I always felt inside I wanted to share them with the world, or at least as many people as I could who might like or appreciate my poetry. Many years passed with that feeling held deep down that someday I’d like to publish my poetry. There came a period in my life where I went through a divorce and ended up in a dark deep depression, and through support from online chat friends and my poetry writing suddenly re-surging due to my emotional state, I decided to turn a negative situation into a positive one by self-publishing my poetry. It helped me beat my depression without the use of drugs, medication or alcohol, all of which only makes a bad situation worse (in my opinion). And even if my book never makes me famous, I have at least realized a lifelong dream and possibly helped someone else see that the "dragon" (that is depression) can be beat.
