Nancy Barr is the James Pearson Duffy Curator of Photography and department head of prints, drawings, and photographs at the Detroit Institute of Arts (DIA), Detroit, Michigan. Prior to joining the curatorial staff at the DIA, Barr received her B.A. from the College for Creative Studies, Detroit, Michigan, and her M.A. from Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan.
Barr has authored articles and publications contributing to the DIA’s journal The Bulletin of the Detroit Institute of
Arts and to exhibition catalogues including Motor City Muse (2013) and Detroit After Dark: Photographs from the Detroit Institute of Arts (2016).
