Fiona Beddall

Fiona is an award-winning author of educational books. After a career as an English teacher in Spain, France and the UK, she has spent more than twenty years editing and writing materials for learning English as a foreign or second language. From bestselling primary course Our Discovery Island to ELTon award finalist Oxford Discover Futures, her work always brings learning alive in exciting new ways.

She has written more than forty course books and graded readers, and they have been published by several of the world's best educational publishers, including Oxford University Press, Pearson and Scholastic.

In 2020, she started publishing company Gateford Press and launched the Life in Britain series of graded readers. These provide material for independent reading and classroom study on British culture, and help students to prepare for the Life in the UK Test.
