Ever since I was a kid I wanted to created picture that people could enjoy. I remember in the 80’s when I started seeing the first computer-generated images I was amazed by the colors and the drama.
I became a huge fan of the epic and dramatic look that you in experience in Cinema. Movies like Gladiator, Gone with the winds, The Matrix, Saving Private Ryan or Sherlock Holmes has such distinct drama with amazing sunsets, clouds and color themes.
I know most of it is not real, but I still love it. Some of my photos are heavily retouched some are not what I’m looking for is something that communicates a message, something epic and adventure.
As I grow as a photographer I try to get it as much as possible in Camera, in my early days I was counting on software to bring the magic touch. Now I challenge myself to come back over and over to a place until I get the look that I want.
I must say I’m less stressed about getting the right photo and having done it for 12 years; the real sport for me now is to get as much drama as possible in camera. This doesn’t mean that I will not give it more impact with software.
I don’t think there is a more pleasant job in this world then to hunt beauty to capture and share with the rest of the world. From a more technical point I love to studies all the technics out there from digital, film, long exposure, HDR. Anything that will help me creates an impact with a photo.
I also love to share and that is why now for over 4 years I have been doing tutorials on photography and post-processing at youtube.com/Photoserge
I think one of the things that make me the happiest is when someone tells me that he I have somehow helped him to take better photos and pursue this artistic carrier. I think a lot of people are not following their heart in what they want to do in life, this was at least the case for many years until I picked up a camera and that changed my life forever.
