Myrtle D. Russell

Myrtle Russell has written five books aimed at improving health outcomes by motivating individuals to make healthy lifestyle changes one small change at a time. Her most recent contribution to The Habits Code is a testament to the power of making gratitude a lifelong habit, one small change at a time.

Committed to her calling to improve health outcomes in underserved communities, Myrtle has used the small change approach to educate thousands on the benefits of adopting healthy lifestyle changes. She has used the approach as a public health leader and has facilitated trainings for public health administrators, community stakeholders, civic groups, and faith-based leaders.

Myrtle has managed national programs targeting underserved and marginalized populations such as the Centers for Disease Control’s (CDC) Planned Approach To Community Health Program (PATCH) and Racial and Ethnic Approaches to Community Health (REACH); and Area Health Education Center’s (AHEC) Programs aimed at enhancing access to quality health care, particularly primary and preventive care, by improving the supply and distribution of healthcare professionals via strategic partnerships with academic programs, communities and professional organizations.

As a small change Wellness Coach, Myrtle recently created The small change TOOLKIT, a set of transformational tools designed to help women build and maintain a consciousness of health, one small change at a time.
