Jerry Humphrey's birth name is Gerald Humphrey, (1979 - ) born to Gerald N. Humphrey and Toni J. Thomas in Pittsburgh, PA. He is a member of Allegheny Center Alliance Church (ACAC) on Pittsburgh's North side. He attended and graduated from the Community College of Allegheny County (CCAC) in May of 2000 with his Associate's Degree in Child and Family Relations. He also attended Indiana University of Pennsylvania (IUP) thereafter in 2001, 2003 and 2004. Jerry, however, did not graduate from IUP. He was academically dismissed because of his low GPA.
In February of 2005, Jerry returned to Pittsburgh. To his surprise, having hit rock-bottom up at IUP, found the woman of his dreams - Jasmine L. Pack. They officially started dating on his birthday (May 3). Jerry and Jasmine tied the knot July 1, 2006 and spent their honeymoon at the Poconos Resort. He also became an instant father of three children (one daughter and two sons). Three more children (all boys) came as a result of their marital union. They have six children altogether. They reside on Pittsburgh's south side.
Before Jerry was a member of ACAC, he was a member of Holy Temple Church of God in Christ under Pastor James M. Gray, Sr and Pastor George F. Stewart in Braddock, PA. In 2005, after returning from IUP, accepted his call to the ministry. His trial sermon was titled, "Our Daily Debt," taken from Romans 13:8. Jerry has a great passion for preaching and teaching the Word of God.
He was given the opportunity to become an assistant Sunday School teacher to the teens in his church. Shortly after, he became the lead Sunday School teacher for the teenagers in his church. He was so committed to teaching them, that while attending IUP, would go home to Pittsburgh on the weekends and teach them every Sunday. Jerry even created his own curriculum and resources. He did this between 2000 - 2001.
From the time he gave his life to Christ in 1993, he always found his peers in high school asking him multiple questions about the Bible. Even family members (aunts, uncles and cousins) would ask him questions. He never tired of answering anyone's questions.
All of his passion for ministry eventually led him to author two books, "How to be a Superman to Your Wife" (August 3, 2007) and "Haunted Heart: The Three Fears of Faith" (June 3, 2013). Through his writings (books), Jerry continues to preach and teach God's Word. (To be continued...)
