Mia Lecomte

Mia Lecomte (Milan, 1966) is an Italian poet and writer of French origin.

Among her most recent publications are the poetry collection "Al museo delle relazioni interrotte" (Lietocolle, 2016); the short story collection "Cronache da un'impossibilità" (Quarup, 2015); and the children's book "Gli Spaesati / Les Dépaysés" (VerbaVolant, 2019).

Her poems have been translated into several languages and appear in Italy as well as abroad in numerous poetry magazines and anthologies. Collections of her poetry have been published in English ("For the Maintenance of Landscape", Guernica, 2012. Trans. Johanna Bishop and Brenda Porster), Romanian ("Nuda proprietate", Eikon, 2020. Trans. Eliza Macadan) and French ("Là où tu as ton corps", Apic, 2020. Trans. Éric Sarner and Roméo Fratti).

A translator from French, among others for the journal Nuovi Argomenti, Mia Lecomte is especially known as critic and editor in the field of transnational literature, in particular poetry, to which she dedicated the essay "Di un poetico altrove. Poesia transnazionale italofona (1960-2016)" (Cesati, 2018) and various anthologies.

She is on the editorial board of the journal of comparative poetry Semicerchio, of the anglo-french poetry festival review La traductière, and is a contributor to Italian edition of Le Monde Diplomatique.

She is the founder and a member of the poetic theatre ensemble Compagnia delle poete (www.compagniadellepoete.com).

In 2017, with other critics and writers in France and Italy, she founded the Transnational Literary Agency Linguafranca (www.linguafrancaonline.org).

She is a member of the Centre Interdisciplinaire de Recherche sur la Culture des Échanges CIRCE (Université Sorbonne Nouvelle-Paris 3) and of the Association franco-anglaise de poésie.
