- twenty years giving live, unscripted pre-performance talks for orchestras, chamber ensembles, and opera companies, most frequently the Colorado Symphony and Opera Colorado

- author of ten general interest books on classical music as part of the "Classical Music Insights" series, available both in print form and digital editions. The newest of these, released in 2021 is "Classical Music Insights: Between the Wars," an overview of significant works and composers from 1914 to 1945.
