Isabel Stilwell

Is a Portuguese journalist, broadcaster and writer. Her growing success as a writer led her to freelance as a journalist, with a weekly column in Jornal de Negócios, writing articles for Máxima, a women’s magazine, as well as a monthly column for Pais & Filhos magazine. She also hosts, together with the renowned psychologist Eduardo Sá, a daily radio programme broadcast on Antena 1.

As a writer, Isabel Stilwell published fiction books, short stories and children’s books, but her passion for historical novels was revealed by the great success of the Portuguese edition of Philippa of Lancaster, in 2007, recently translated into English. Catherine of Braganza was her second novel, and since then she has written five other biographies of queens of Portugal, with more than 200 thousand copies sold.

Isabel Stilwell is a mother of three and a grandmother of six, and lives in Sintra, near Lisbon.
