Have you ever wanted to accomplish something and felt it was too late or too difficult to try? Fulfilling a goal is what the book A Wasted Life means to me, personally. I have a Bachelor’s Degree in Broadcast Journalism from FIU and a degree from the Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale. I am an award-winning journalist, former local television reporter for Media One and writer for the Sun-Sentinel newspaper. I pioneered the Fitness Profiles of the “Lifestyle” section of the Sun-Sentinel. There I had the opportunity to interview such high profile entertainment and sports figures such as Martina Navratilova, Wilt Chamberlain, Alonzo Mourning, Marilu Henner, Stephen Baldwin, Steven Seagal, Michael Ashley, Richard Simmons, Dave Thomas and the list goes on. I started my television career as a production assistant at WBZL in Miami. I did my journalism internship at the ABC affiliate in Miami where I worked alongside award-winning medical reporter and anchor, Kristi Krueger. In addition, I spent a semester teaching journalism at Coral Springs Charter School.
I am also an AFAA certified personal trainer, AFAA certified group fitness and Spinning certified instructor with 20 years experience, mostly in South Florida. I have attended dozens of workshops and training programs in such areas as Pilates, Yoga, Zumba, Kickboxing, Boxing, Slide, Step, Aqua, Moms’ in Motion, Ballroom Dancing, Injury Prevention, and Children and Senior fitness. My fitness related television appearances include: several segments of “Fitness w/Justin Gonzalez” on CBS/4; several interviews and demonstrations as a fitness expert on the show “Healthy Living.” As you see I believe in a healthy mind and body.
But with all of the above, I still had yet to realize a dream that started as a dare between two college students. During some of the most difficult times in my life I set out to write a book and what a journey it was! To find out more about it check out my blog at awastedlifenovel.com
