Joseph Tate

Joseph Tate was born in Chicago in 1968 to Joseph and Lucille Tate and lived in 13 different states before graduating from high school in Milwaukee, Wisconsin in 1987.

Joseph joined the Marine Corps the summer after graduation and in 1991 fought in operation Desert Storm. After the war Joseph moved to a small town just outside Nashville, Tennessee and tried to figure out what the whole civilian thing was all about.

In 1993 Joseph and a team of artists, The Haynes brothers, began working on a graphic novel. This story would, many years later, become "Imperium Eternal".

After a decade of struggle and failure to produce our own graphic novel Joseph called it quits and for many years Joseph did not write a single thing.

In 2011 Stephen Clements convinced Joseph to contribute two stories to "Memphis Dirty: Tales From The Dirty South", and desire to write was re-kindled (thanks Stephen!).

In 2011 Joseph started a production company, Black Spartacus Productions, and Joseph is working with The Haynes brothers on several graphic novels.

Joseph and the Haynes brothers are producing "So You Survived the Zombie Apocalypse", "Imperium Eternal", "40 Thieves" and our newest collaboration, "Paladins of Fire".

Joseph, his wife Kelly and their very tiny Yorky Halo live just outside of Washington D. C.. Joseph has one daughter, Malisha, who writes poetry and is currently attending culinary school.
